Coronavirus situation in the Lapland Healthcare District

During the two-week period from 28 September – 11 October, there have been a total of 30 coronavirus infections in the Lapland Healthcare District. 20 of these cases are related to the chain of infections that occurred in Ylläs, and half of the remaining cases were infected outside of the Lapland Healthcare district area. The incidence of the corona epidemic within the Lapland Healthcare District area is 25.6 per 100,000 inhabitants.

The situation in the Lapland Healthcare District is a period of calm.  The number of new coronavirus cases has increased in other parts of Finland, which can also forecast a change in the situation in Lapland. For this reason, it is now especially important for everyone to wear a face mask in indoor areas where adequate social distancing is not possible (public transport, shops, restaurants, bars, concerts).
