Over the past couple of weeks (2 September – 15 September), Lapland has had a total of three (3) confirmed COVID-19 cases. Based on this figure, the incidence of the virus in Lapland for the past two weeks has been 1.1 infections per 100,000 inhabitants. Of these infections, both are in the Lapland Healthcare District, meaning that the incidence of the virus in the Lapland Healthcare District is 1.7 infections per 100,000 inhabitants over the last two weeks.

There have been no infections in the Länsi-Pohja Healthcare District over the past two weeks, or indeed the two weeks before. This means that the incidence of the virus in the Länsi-Pohja Healthcare District is zero (0) infections per 100,000 inhabitants over the last two weeks. 

In Lapland, the coronavirus situation is calm. The majority of transmission chains come from abroad and the number of infections is currently not spreading through the community. Lapland shows no signs of an epidemic. The number of new weekly coronavirus cases for the entire country has also remained small. A few individual clusters have been seen in some localities, but there are no signs of an epidemic.
