Six (6) new positive tests in the Lapland Healthcare District over the past week.

There were 10 cases during the previous two weeks. The two-week incidence in the Lapland Healthcare District was 8.5. 

During a two-week period, there were 11 new cases throughout Lapland, with an incidence of 6.2 per 100,000 inhabitants.

Incidence of the coronavirus for the Länsi-Pohja Healthcare District was 1.7 per 100,000 inhabitants.

On the national level, the situation has worsened, with a number of regions in southern Finland witnessing a rise in the number of cases: In the HUS Helsinki University Hospital district the origin of some infections is unknown.

There were more cases than earlier in the Lapland Healthcare District that were related to autumn travel, with a total of 15 infections, 11 of which were from elsewhere in Finland.

Consequently, the use of face masks is recommended in indoor areas and on public transport, according to the national guidelines.

It is important to remember hygiene rules: use of face masks, washing hands and social distancing. Large gatherings should be avoided. The threshold for taking a coronavirus test should still be kept low.
