(current information at 11:55)

The Länsi-Pohja Hospital District transitioned into the epidemic acceleration phase on 4 November.

Seven (7) new coronavirus cases have been confirmed since the previous review. The majority of these cases are in Tornio. Tracing of those who have been exposed is still ongoing.

During the past two weeks, the incidence figure for the coronavirus disease in the Länsi-Pohja Hospital District raised to 61.8 per one hundred thousand inhabitants, which represents the third highest figure in Finland, after Uusimaa and Vaasa.

This situation must be taken seriously. All events and public gatherings should be postponed. There must be no participation in public gatherings of any kind before the epidemic situation calms down. It is also strongly recommended that companies do not organise any Christmas events. No public gatherings should be arranged before the epidemic situation in the Länsi-Pohja Hospital District has returned to the base level.

The rules and restrictions imposed by the Regional State Administrative Agency, and guidelines for gatherings exceeding 20 participants, must be strictly adhered to.

We would also like to remind you that in addition to public gatherings, there are clearly high risks of spreading coronavirus infections with singing groups.

We recommend for all public gatherings to be stopped, all extra contact with other people should be avoided, and please celebrate Father’s Day within your immediate family circle.
