You still need to take a coronavirus test even when experiencing the mildest of symptoms, if you have the risk of being infected with a severe case of the coronavirus disease, or if you may have been exposed to the coronavirus, or you are employed in the social and health sector.

Lapland Hospital District
In the Lapland Hospital District, the coronavirus epidemic situation is on the baseline level.
The incidence rate for the epidemic based on the last two weeks (4–17 October) is 34.2 per 100,000 inhabitants.
The incidence rate for the epidemic based on one week (11–17 October) is 12.8 per 100,000 inhabitants.
This incidence rate also includes cases of patients who live outside the Lapland Hospital District area. For this reason, the figure can differ from that announced by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) that does not count those living outside of Lapland.
Last week (week no. 41, 11–17 October), a total of 15 coronavirus infections were confirmed in the Lapland Hospital District, 13 of which were confirmed in Rovaniemi and two in Sodankylä. A total of 1,859 coronavirus tests were taken in the Lapland Hospital District last week, with 1,707 being rapid antigen tests. The proportion of positive test cases in relation to the total number of tests taken was 0.81 percent.
A total of six new coronavirus cases have been confirmed so far this week (20 October).
Of the total population of the Lapland Hospital District, 75.1% have received the first dose of the vaccine and 66.6% have received the second dose of the vaccine. Of the total population of Finland, 74.7% have received the first dose of the vaccine and 66.9% percent have received the second dose of the vaccine

The total number of cases confirmed in the Lapland Hospital District on the basis of coronavirus tests conducted at testing stations is 1,575. This figure also includes persons living outside the area.
Länsi-Pohja Hospital District
The coronavirus epidemic situation in the Länsi-Pohja Hospital District area is in the acceleration phase.
A total of 22 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the Länsi-Pohja Hospital District this week by 20 October. There are currently no coronavirus patients in hospital care.
Last week (week no. 41, 11–17 October 2021), a total of 33 coronavirus infections were confirmed. Fortunately, 21 of the positive cases were with people already in quarantine. Cases are now being reported particularly among children and young adults, and these will result in further infections within the family. In particular, non-vaccinated persons are at risk of infection with a higher risk of suffering a serious form of the disease. The Hospital District strongly recommends vaccination for all those aged 12 years or over.
73.5% of the population of Länsi-Pohja has received one dose of the vaccine and 63.5% has received both doses of the vaccine.
